I am beyond giddy, as always, with the onset of THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! ♫ ♪ ☀️Nothing on earth lightens my soul quite like longer days and milder temps. It restores a tranquility that is missing for me in the depths of a cold, dreary winter. 🥶
Time to go harvest some dandelions 🌼 for a new batch of soap 🧼 and some salve/tincture. Besides being a nutritious and completely edible plant, every part from the roots to the leaves to the flowers can be used. You can make dandelion root tea, dandelion leaf salad and even fried dandelion flowers! Along with all this, they also offer a huge range of health benefits from strengthening bones and fighting diabetes to detoxifying your liver and nourishing your skin in all sorts of ways. Imagine. I used to think it was an unsightly weed to be destroyed in order to have a “pretty lawn”. How do we get these (sometimes) ridiculous ideas? Does anyone perhaps benefit in some way when we “prettify” our yards by poisoning ☠️ the natural plant 🌱 life? Plants that our grand and great-grandparents knew to be of a vast variety of uses? 🤔 Dandelions are anti-inflammatory as well as high in antioxidants, and when applied topically they can help nourish and clear skin, fight skin infections and help relieve muscle and joint pain, including pain caused by arthritis. (NO MEDICAL ADVICE IS IMPLIED HERE) Why would anyone NOT TRY remedies that are truly provided by nature before turning to synthetic “cures” 💊 that so often cause an entire new cluster of maladies from which you will need to be cured? 🤮 DO YOUR RESEARCH. There is more than enough information available at our fingertips to help us enjoy good health and perhaps to restore our bodies to better health. What’s stopping YOU? Happy Spring, all. Happy EVERY day. 🥰
